VCI on the new EU trade defence instruments

Ensure WTO Compatibility

The European Comission has presented new trade defence instruments today. VCI director-general Utz Tillmann emphaiszes that the new method of calculating anti dumping tariffs should not be contradictary to existing WTO rules.

VCI director-general Utz Tillmann on the new trade defence instruments of the European Union, as presented today:

„The EU needs to ensure that the new anti-dumping rules are really WTO compatible. A lengthy WTO dispute would be poison for the export-oriented EU industry and for the business climate in relations with China.”
