Energy Statistics for the Chemical-Pharmaceutical Industry in Germany

Facts, figures and charts around the topic energy in the German chemical-pharmaceutical industry: Consumption, raw materials base, prices, costs, climate protection, EEG.

The chemical-pharmaceutical industry is resource and energy intensive. More than one fifth of the energy needs of the manufacturing sector is attributable to them. The costs of the scarce energy production factor are growing.

The optimization of processes and methods helps to save further energy. With success: the chemical industry has reduced its absolute energy consumption since 1990 significantly, despite an increase in production.

The VCI provides the interested public with a selection of energy statistics on energy consumption, raw materials base, prices, costs and climate protection in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.
